February SportsSports events: The Super Bowl The most important sports event in February is the Super Bowl. This football game is the most popular TV sports event of the year, because it decides which football team is the best for the season. To understand the Super Bowl, you must know that: All American professional football teams belong to one league -- the National Football League (NFL). The NFL is divided into two conferences -- the American Football Conference (AFC) and the National Football Conference (NFC). At the end of the season, the best teams in each conference play each other in a series of playoff games. The Super Bowl is between the winners of these conference playoffs.
